JB Knacker ended August on a great note! Thanks to all of you who made it to the shop on such a fine looking day. Believe it or not, it was our best day ever! I'm still shocked by that, but never have I had a day where I couldn't get away from the cash register all day, not even to pee! And I will gladly hold it for that reason!! Enough with the bathroom talk...really just wanted to say thanks and give you a quick tour of pockets & corners of the shop.

A lot of fun stuff still left and more being put out daily. No time to rest as JUNK Bonanza is just around the corner ~ September 17th, 18th & 19th! The booth display is coming together...it's gonna be GREAT! And don't forget to sign up for our latest workshops on September 23rd (soldered charm wrkshp) and the 30th (inspiration board wrkshp). Both workshops are on Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm at the shop ~ give us a call at (515) 233-2600 to register or email us at jbknacker.brenda@gmail.com. Brenda

WHoosh

You know that sound when a big truck goes past you real quick - WHoosh. Yeah, that's what the last 3 weeks at the shop have been. You've all heard it..."where has the time gone?" Well, here's a quick run-down of activities at JB Knacker in the past 3 weeks: Inspiration Board Workshop, Soldered Charm Workshop, Breakfast Club Saturday and Gilbert Fest Event.

And hosting those great gals from up North for a little JB shopping during the soldered charm workshop ( see Ki's blog ) was a real treat, and made me feel a little like a celebrity if only for just a moment. My camera was nowhere to be found to document any of these fun happenings at the shop ~ am I really worthy?!

And somewhere during this 3 weeks, a big decision was made to be a vendor at The Junk Bonanza September 17, 18 and 19th!! We did this 2 years ago and it was a great show. Last year was a no go as baby Cecilia was well, just an itty-bitty baby.

Just keeping the shop fresh and filled during this 3 weeks was a challenge, but always a fun challenge if you are a junker at heart. There was a quick trip to What Cheer Flea Market in the eastern part of our great state and a quick stop at Sisters' Garden near Kalona to say "Hi" to Barb and Sharon. An auction here and a great consignment store there. Out west to do a little estating (well, western Iowa anyway). Another try at an old farm auction was a miss as we couldn't leave until after the shop closed. Hoping we'd cash in at the end when the auctioneer is a bit tired and just starts to lump wonderful old farm primitives into big old piles...but alas, we arrived as everyone else was loading those great old piles of farm primitives into the back of their trucks...it almost brings a tear to the eye. When a door closes...oh yeah, we found a wonderful little junk shop just a few miles from said auction.

I promise, promise to get pictures posted of the shop ASAP! For some reason, I am unable to load pictures today?? Have a great week!
